A World War II veteran who was robbed by three teenage girls in his mobility scooter in Darwin city overnight will have an escort for his evening beer at Shenannigans, for the near future.
NT Police reported earlier this morning that at 9:30pm the 101-year-old was assaulted and held by the females aged 14, 15 and 19, as they removed his wallet and keys, before fleeing the area.
Speaking from Royal Darwin Hospital earlier today where he was treated for lacerations to his arms, the elderly gentleman said he was most worried about his house keys and managed to "hold onto them".

He said his wallet and mobile phone were both taken by the youths.
The centenarian reportedly has no family and has "out-lived them all".
A close friend shared the elderly gentleman is now rethinking whether it is safe to venture out after dark, but was reassured by the offer of an escourt to-and-from Shenannigans.
