Appalling violence as 30yo pair go after teenage clubbers

Footage of two women rushing a number of teenage clubbers outside the Nine Television office on Mitchell street has been inboxed to The Mango Inquirer.

Family of one teenage girl have remained steadfast and persistent on getting this video published online from Mitchell street, three weeks ago.

Expressing concern it may backfire, while having reservations on how it may affect the alleged victim, her aunty reassured this publication that the video had "full support" of family to go online, as they still wait for police to follow up the complaint with an interview of their niece.

The delay in publishing this video goes down to my judgement when content doesn't feel like it has news value or entertainment aspects to it, and I have concerns for the alleged victims with the potential for escalation. That's when I'll question or discourage moving forward with something.

In personal and ongoing disputes like this, family members involved with the other party may insist something is "one-sided", but does anyone realistically expect The Mango Inquirer to locate everyone involved, let alone attain cooperation of the "other side" to a story.

Do news organisations give-up publishing something if they don't have cooperation from everyone involved?

Rhetorical questions aside, that level of violence in the video was appalling, regardless of how it started, and the more I reflect on it, the more I'm convinced and reassured that publishing this was the right thing to do.

We are The Mango Inquirer.
