Katherine in chaos: Beef over relationship behind 2am hit-and-run, where man pushing trolley is runover by a Holden ute

A Katherine local's video has shed more light on a hit-and-run incident posted by NT Police to their Facebook page last month, in a request for public assistance.

The post read: "CCTV operators observed a collision involving a male pedestrian and a vehicle on the Stuart Highway".

"The pedestrian, a 31-year-old male, was pushing a shopping trolley while attempting to cross the highway, when a white Holden Colorado tray back utility, driving outbound, approached.

"As the vehicle neared, the driver deliberately drove towards the pedestrian, striking him.

"The driver fled the scene, and the pedestrian suffered severe injuries. He was initially transported to Katherine Hospital before being transferred to Royal Darwin Hospital for further treatment."

"Police are actively seeking the whereabouts of the vehicle involved, a white Holden Colorado with NT registration CE85VO.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident or may have dashcam footage from the area at the time is urged to contact police on 131 444 or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000."

Our source inboxing the video alleges: "The fella with the trolley is in a relationship with the person that is driving ex.

"But she still sees both of them, so they have a beef over a woman.

"And the worse part is she was in the passenger seat at the time.

"Nah he hasn't been caught. He is still getting around here."

Only in Katherine.
