Ute driver held down by motorcyclist near Darwin Waterfront after road rage incident, caught on helmet camera

A group of motorcycle enthusiasts' riding down Mitchell street last night finished their ride with a visit to the police station, after a ute driver "smelling of alcohol" punched one rider in the helmet dropping his bike, during an altercation on the side of the road.

Footage of the incident was posted to Facebook page Darwin Dash Cam Videos overnight.

The dispute reportedly started over the noise of a bike exhaust, with the video source sharing: "Drunk guy pulling up into front of us to swing at a friend due to mate's exhaust being loud for just cruising."

During a physical altercation where the ute driver appears to be held down by one of the riders, the ute driver can be heard saying: "Think about ya kids and family ya fuck head."

"Whadya cunts go [inaudible] up on every other cunt's family."

One of the riders appeared to apologise, while another asked the ute driver: "Are we happy?" before he's released.

The video source wrote online: "He was arguing that we were rev-bombing down Mitchell street, yet the r1 was just being loud in general.

"He stuck his hand out to signal a little rev, which a mate did a small one, yet he pulled over to tail gate us on bikes."

"We were in the city just to check Mitchell, but the police out front said all stations were closed and to report it online."

The man sharing the footage said they also reported it to 000.
