CCTV has been obtained by The Mango Inquirer, showing the moment a group of six youths forced their way into Katherine BP at 5am this morning, stealing cigarettes, coke, hot food and the cash register.
All wearing tshirts over their heads to conceal their identities, two of the youths entering the store were armed with a hatchet and a knife, while the staff member on shift hid in a locked backroom.
Our source inboxing the footage described the staff member's actions as "lazy".
"This is that staff member's third time of not following procedure, that causes risk to his life and business loss.
"He failed to use drop bolts as lazy, and ran away when had chance to fix and drop bolts.
"He didn’t lock the door to counter/smoke area."
Katherine BP has previously trusted The Mango Inquirer to share their CCTV incidents over the past year, including an all-female gang raid, where a staff member tried to fight ladies off with a can of bug spray, but was met by a fire extinguisher in response.
The staff member was an asthmatic, and struggled to breath through the incident.
