A source has contacted The Mango Inquirer with exclusive footage from inside the Dondale detention centre, where a 16yo has made a video and reached out to people on social media.
"Me and him have a full no contact DVO for 10 years. I’m the protected person.
"I just want people to see how unserious the law takes these things.
"They’ve been letting the boys on devices and they’ve been going into social media which wouldn’t be a big deal if we didn’t have a DVO.
"Makes it unsafe for some people and it’s literally your detention, WHY ARE THEY ALLOWED DEVICES !!
"He was given it for his court tomorrow which I don’t know how that even makes sense.
"Why would he need an iPad?
"And he’s also the first person I’ve ever heard of even being allowed on a device, so it’s really strange to me cause it’s not normal at all.
"Normally they have to be with their lawyer present in the meeting rooms and a guard too.
"They aren’t even allowed to touch the devices too, so it’s really strange he was able to have the iPad unlocked by himself in his cell.
Mango has not contacted the department of corrections for comment yet.
We've chosen not to share the full video at this stage.
