Suzi Milgate has appeared in Darwin local court on the alleged criminal offence of being an ‘Unlicensed Real Estate Agent’, where she represented herself in front of judge Alan Woodcock.
Milgate started by requesting: “Can I just start reading something out very quickly?
Judge: “No, we make submissions in court, we don’t read things out.”
Milgate proceeded to say: “I’m just be letting you know I’ll be pleading not guilty”, referring to the matter as a “political witch hunt” to “further harm my reputation”.
Further charges are still running through the court system for Milgate, relating to a viral video where she allegedly slapped a plate of crepes in then-Chief Minister’s face, Natasha Fyles, at Nightcliff Markets.
The judge asked: “Are you going to get representation?”
Milgate: “I don’t have a lawyer but I have a medical condition.”
Milgate appears to have a unique outlook on the world, publishing material on her Facebook page that suggested the moon landing was faked.
The matter was adjourned to another date.
