Local aerial photographer Paul Arnold gave testimony during his hearing this afternoon, admitting to throwing various items in the direction of his alleged victim, during arguments his defence lawyer characterised as "volatile".
In one incident where his former partner was gathering her possessions to depart the residence they were staying, Arnold admitted to grabbing a makeup box and making it aerial.
He said between tears: "I grabbed it. I've hurled it so hard, on the floor, and I shattered it. The force I threw it with was really bad. It was."
Defence lawyer John Tippett QC asked his client: "So you threw her makeup."
Arnold: "I threw it on the floor. It hit her really."
Tippett QC: "When you say hit her, what do you mean?"
Arnold: "I threw it. I didn't know whether I was going to throw it at her feet or at her. It hit her."
Tippett asked his client about a Yeti water bottle.
Arnold: "I threw it that hard, at her proximately. Its hit the floor, bounced up and hit her.
"What shocked me was the force that I actually threw it. That the Yeti has distorted. Blown the lid off.
"That's pretty much impossible to do."
Arnold claimed he broke off his relationship with the alleged DV victim three times between September 2022 and December 2023, describing his former partner as "overpowering" and "bullying".
He said his former partner instead got physical with him: "She pushed me against her door post."
Tippett: "While you were up against the door post, was she close to you at that stage?"
"She was right in my face. She was pushing her chest against me."
Arnold denied heading-butting her: "No way. I throw shit. It's what I do."
His testimony continues tomorrow morning from 10am in court room 6.
Wouldn't mind knowing why all those friends and public figures who have supported him both privately and publicly on Facebook months ago, haven't bothered turning up to court.
He's got one friend in there.
It's a ghost town.
Could it be the walk-of-shame past the media outside, or is there something else coming.
