Yesterday's court date where Darwin bush photographer Paul Arnold was expected to appear and hear the judgement on domestic violence related charges, has been vacated until October 7th.
Arnold was meant to return to Darwin from Queensland this week for the closing arguments from his defence barrister John Tippett QC and prosecutor Rebecca Everitt.
After waiting hours outside the court house for Arnold yesterday, The Mango Inquirer can finally reveal what happened.
An in-chambers hearing in front of Judge Therese Austin on Monday 29th July resulted in the date being vacated.
No further details are available on what triggered the last minute reprieve for Arnold, who was looking at prison time if found guilty on the charges.
Another lawyer representing Arnold on a different matter appeared yesterday afternoon where an interim review of a personal violence order he made against Leah Potter was being heard.
Potter was phoned twice during the matter in open court, as she had previously been approved to represent electronically from Cairns.
The calls went to message bank, which was "full".
It wasn't clear from the hearing whether Arnold's other lawyer had received further instructions or not.
The no-contact order remains in place.
